An interview with quo’S founder, jackie biceski.
How did you get the idea for quo business lounge?
“2 years ago, I set out to find a new workspace in the Illawarra to grow my home-based business into. Like I am sure many business owners do, I was looking for somewhere that was a city-centre location, that offered a luxurious and premium workspace experience, offered flexible options for a growing business, and most importantly, that could amplify my own business’s brand of professionalism, warmth, and putting people first. Unfortunately, what existed on the market in the Illawarra didn’t tick all of these boxes. What I saw instead were small cramped offices with paper thin walls that would make my small business feel, well… small! But my belief was that if I’m going to invest into my business and take this risk to grow it into a new space, it needed to be somewhere that made my team, my brand, and my clients feel more than just ordinary. After all, like the many business owners, solo-entrepreneurs, start-ups, and hybrid teams that work in the Illawarra, what we all strive to offer our clients is the extraordinary. When we feel empowered to do this, by the people, mindset, and place we do work, great things can happen. I felt like Goldilocks for a while, finding offices that were too big, too small, too expensive, and then too basic. I was dreaming of a place, with people, and mindsets that were “just right”. And then it hit me - I can create this! And I did. And so that is the origin story, the rest is history”
